Surgery Suite
All animals undergoing surgery will receive a full exam the day of surgery and pre-anesthetic blood work if necessary. The surgery suite has a heated surgery table to maintain your pets’ temperature during the procedure. We also have an additional heater for pets that must undergo longer surgeries or have less body hair. Each pet is monitored by a licensed technician and doctor. Our vital signs monitor is used to monitor heart rate (EKG), blood pressure, oxygen saturation and temperature. An intravenous catheter is placed prior to surgery and fluids are given throughout the procedure. Routine surgeries are performed by our veterinarian and more complex orthopedic or soft tissue surgeries are performed by a referral veterinarian at our hospital. Most surgical patients are released from the hospital the same day. Further arrangements for hospitalization can be made for more critical patients at the doctor’s discretion.
